Building in Quissico and Cala

Quissico

I praise God that we've been able to start two building projects on the land for the ministry house in Quissico, Inhambane!

A team of 4 Mozambican brothers are building the block storeroom and the property wall for the land where I would live.

The construction leader, Titos, measured very carefully before putting down the first corner block for the storeroom. One of the guys turned to me and said that it was, "the most important block because everything else would be built upon it."

As they asked me to lay down the block, I couldn't help but think of Christ...

 the "...sure foundation...the chief cornerstone."
(Isaiah 28:16, Matthew 21:42)

Cala

As one work begins, another one is finished...the reed and coconut palm church in Cala, Inhambane!

Sunday morning service in Cala, where the reeds provide natural air conditioning.

3 years ago, 2 men, Tomas and Isildro, had no Biblical leadership training. But now, what joy to see them preaching the Word of God as a result of their training with us.

2014 Prayer

I'm trusting in God's will and time for me to move north of Maputo to the village of Quissico in the province of Inhambane.

Lord willing, I will continue serving in Biblical discipleship training for the church leaders in this area.

During these last 3 years I've begun to build relationships with students from the large Mozambican High School in Quissico, and I'm praying about some form of student ministry in the future.

I would appreciate prayer in 2014 as I desire to obey
God's will, way, provision, and timing for the construction of the ministry house where I would live and the training center where I would serve in Quissico.

Thank you!
